4 tips to make moving not a headache

Removals can be stressful, cumbersome, and exhausting. To simplify your life and avoid a problem, it is key to have a good organization. Do you want to know how you can best plan the move to your new home? RBR Moving give you 4 tips for you to achieve it:

At the time of moving, it is common to have the feeling that it will be very difficult to organize and pack our whole lives in some boxes. But the truth is that a move is an opportunity to start again in a home, arrange your furniture differently and get rid of everything you don’t need.

So that you can take charge of the organization of the move, without so much stress and with time, the 4 tips that we are going to give you are very important. Start your planning now!

1. A List to Manage Pending

It is a stage in which you have so many things to do that the most sensible thing is to start by putting together a list so that nothing is left behind. A good check-list can be written in a notebook, a document on the computer or even in an app on your phone.

Certain items that cannot be missing from the list: Moving expenses, notifying the owner or the real estate agent of both the property you are living in and the new property you are going to move to, when you are going to move, assemble the boxes of cardboard of different sizes according to what you should keep, buy plastic rolls with bubbles for delicate objects, accumulate paper diaries for the same purpose, have a permanent marker to identify each of the boxes or packages, buy wide tape to close them , communicate the new email address to banks and any institution that needs it, pay all electricity, water and gas services so that there are no debts, cancel services such as cable and internet, disconnect the refrigerator a day before of the move and clean it well before the move, take the opportunity to donate clothes and objects that we do not use it, organise rubbish removal and surely several more tasks.

This strategy will organize your move, prevent you from forgetting important issues, make your move easier and less stress.

2. Start with Time to Pack

To avoid nerves a few days after your move, the best thing you can do is start organizing early. Do not wait to store all your things two days before moving because you probably do not have enough time. If you have the possibility, start 15 days before. You can start with objects that you don’t use often, such as: books, that tableware that you only use at parties or special occasions, clothes from last season or decorative objects. Then, as the move-in time approaches, put the rest of your most frequently used objects away.

3. The Packaging Keys

First, you have to assemble the boxes and reinforce their base so that they do not collapse with the weight. If you have to keep books, fill them only halfway because otherwise you will not be able to lift them when you have to move them.

To make it easier to find your things and distribute the boxes in your new home, it is convenient to label each box with the environment from which it came and with the information of what it contains.

Also, it is useful to buy labels with the word “fragile” or label it on the boxes yourself to indicate that they contain objects that can be easily broken. In addition, it is necessary to wrap dishes, glassware or decoration objects with newspaper and bubble wrap to protect them.

Finally, when closing the boxes with tape it is advisable to pass it twice so that they are well secured.

4. Separate everyday objects

When starting a move, all objects in your home should be stored and moved to a new one. It is very difficult to organize all this packaging in one day, for this reason it is important that you separate a suitcase or a box with those things that you may need while you order your new home. Personal hygiene items, everyday clothes, essential kitchen utensils, the cell phone charger, remedies and any other object that is often used. It is convenient to protect it from the rest of the boxes to be able to find these elements easily from the first day.

With these changes it is possible to facilitate the process of moving and even enjoy it. After all, it is well worth the effort to enjoy your new home! In RBR Moving we help you move to your new home, with our section give your style.
