Before they were known as Boston Terriers, Boston Terriers were known as American Bull Terriers. One of the reasons for the name change was that Boston Terriers had much longer faces than Bull Terriers.

The Boston Terrier is the University of Boston’s mascot and the university’s student body are referred to collectively as terriers. Furthermore the university’s mascot is named Rhett after the character Rhett Butler from the iconic film “Gone With the Wind”.
11. Boston Terriers are often confused with French Bulldogs
As both French Bulldogs and Boston Terriers have a similar shape and are white and black, people often find it difficult to tell the two breeds apart.
