To become an LVN (licensed vocational nurse), you’ll only need to attend a one-year program. However, most nurses choose to get their RN (registered nurse) licensure, which takes two years, on average. From there, you can significantly boost your income and career opportunities by attending an RN to BSN program. This can usually be done entirely online. Accounting is another degree program that can often be completed online, and the career possibilities in this field are endless. The teaching shortage across the US means it’s easier to find work in this field than ever before and there are more paths to do it. Traditionally, to be a teacher, you would major in the subject you want to teach and minor in education. While that’s still an option, many people with other types of bachelor’s degrees are returning to get alternative certification. This usually means taking education classes while interning as teachers for two years to become fully certified.
