3 Ways to Experience Geylang to the Fullest

July 31, 2019 by TJ Leave a Comment

It’s been quite some time since Geylang has taken the crown from Bugis Street as Singapore’s so-called premier “red light district.” But Geylang’s true place in the small city-state lies beyond this reputation. It’s a thriving and bustling part of Singapore that’s built around one of the small country’s oldest Malay settlements, Geylang Serai. But over the years, it’s become much more diverse. As a result, it can offer a unique way to experience the entirety of Singapore in a smaller scale.

The first step to experiencing one of Singapore’s most vibrant areas is to book a reasonably cheap hotel in Geylang. Preferably, it should be one that gives you a strategic starting point for your daily adventures. After that, the most important places should be within easy reach. Read on for some sure ways to get the most out of your Geylang experience.

Shop at Geylang Serai New Market

Right in the heart of the greater Geylang area, Geylang Serai New Market is one of the place’s most prominent features. Visually, it stands out with a design that’s inspired by Malay kampong houses. After Geylang Serai New Market was renovated, it has indeed more closely reflected the community’s strong Malay roots.

In its current configuration, Geylang Serai New Market has two floors. The ground floor is dedicated to fishes, spices, and other savoury wares. Meanwhile, the upper floor is the place to be if you’re a foodie. Indeed, it’s home to a colourful collection of establishments that specialise in Malay- and Indian-style food—which brings us to our next recommended activity.

Have a Taste of the Food

As a reflection of Singapore’s status as a melting pot of cultures, it’s also seen an explosion of different types of cuisine. This is in turn reflected by the increasing variety of delicious cuisines for grab in Geylang alone.

Just in Geylang Serai New Market, you should definitely try out two of the most famous food stalls in the area. The first, Hajjah Mona Nasi Padang, serves delicious Malay food. Meanwhile, Geylang Briyani Hal should be more up your alley if you’re in the mood for some authentic spicy Indian food. And of course, you shouldn’t leave Geylang without experiencing one of the region’s most unique fruits: the durian. Whatever you may hear about its pungent smell, it continues to be a local favorite and even have some foreign converts. If you’re up to the challenge, you won’t have a hard time finding hawkers throughout Geylang who sell the unique fruit.

Get Close with the Local Culture

Even a simple walk through Geylang’s winding lanes (or lorong, as they’re locally known) should tell you how the area reflects modern Singapore. Just from the places of worship, you can see that it’s become home to a diverse group of peoples. Throughout the area, you’ll see a handful of Buddhist temples, Christian churches, Muslim mosques, and even a Hindu temple. All of this is just barely scratching the surface, though.

You can even see signs of the area’s diversity through the various different shophouse designs around town. The various businesses’ frontages portray an eclectic assortment of styles from Chinese, Malay, Southeast Asian, and even European design. All of these factors make travelling through Geylang a truly unique experience for all sorts of tourists.

Once you’ve actually gotten to know Geylang, you’ll find out that it has more to offer than what it’s reputation can suggest. Indeed, it has an atmosphere of its own that is, in some way, very emblematic of Singapore’s own unique place in Southeast Asia. Get the most out of your stay and take home some unforgettable memories by experiencing Geylang—and Singapore, in general—to its fullest.

July 10, 2019 by TJ Leave a Comment

Dubai’s a city of constant development. As some say, it’s the mayor of the seven emirates and a city that has developed fortunes and that has revived since the real estate crash. Even though they are very wealthy in oil, it only accounts for 1% of the city’s earnings. Immigrants and locals are always looking for real estate opportunities such as off plan projects by Dubai Properties or apartments for sale in Palm Jumeirah due to the success of the country.

So what makes Dubai so rich and one of the most amazing countries in the world? There are a few reasons for this:

1. FREE ZONES

Dubai established one of the largest free zones of the world in 1985: Jafza, with the Jebel Ali Free Zone. This has an area of 52 square kilometers.

Due to this accomplishment, global businesses started investing in real estate in the city so they could run their companies from there. There are over 30 free zones in the emirates which offer, according to experts, tax breaks, custom duty benefits and lack of restrictions to local and foreign owners.

2. GREAT INCOMES

There are pretty big businesses and multinational companies working right now in Dubai, which, altogether, make up 20% of the foreign investment in Dubai. There’s also an estimated of approximately 144 thousand employees that are generating the city a very deserved amount of 80 billion dollars in what locals call non-oil money. This income translates into 21% of the city’s GDP (Gross Domestic Product).

3. DUBAI BELONGS TO ONE OF THE RICHEST COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD

For those who don’t already know this fact, the UAE is in the third position on the richest countries of the world list. It is below Luxembourg (second) and Qatar (first). The UAE has a GDP per capita of $57,744.

Some of the main goods the country produces are services that have a relation with petroleum, petrochemicals, aluminium, and cement.

The city also counts with plenty of architecture, infrastructure, economic and technological developments that keep growing and advancing very quickly.

So, whenever you’re looking for townhouses for sale in Dubai, remember you’re not only investing in your future, but also on a property in one of the capitals of the world. This is a huge deal that anybody would love.

Why Every Hotel Needs a Video Marketing Agency

July 5, 2019 by TJ Leave a Comment

Video marketing agencies are specialized firms that produce videos that can promote engagement for your hotel. One benefit is having a video can increase the visibility of your hotel while also lifting some of the burdens of your hotel has to deal with marketing to others.

By having a video marketing agency produce the videos for your hotel, you can increase the overall exposure of your company. An agency will have experience producing videos for other companies and will typically have experience with what factors are important in producing a video that’s cost-effective and efficient, and provides for a great return on investment.

Creating a marketing video for your hotel isn’t the same as making a video for the business because there are many factors that play into it. Some factors that are included in making videos are being able to hold an audience’s attention, the ability efferently deliver your message to customers, and to have it be engaging.

A video marketing agency will have experience and specialist knowledge of the type of things that will grab the customers attention. These types of things can include minute details like an explanation for the type of color used, the type of music used, the fonts selected for messaging and how long your advertisement runs. A wise strategy is everything!

You can make a killer video advertisement, but it can ultimately mean nothing if it wasn’t timed correctly or wasn’t released at the right time.

When a hotel features many different videos then it is more likely to get viewed by search engines like Google. Not only can this increase the number of potential customers for your business, but it also can be important in further developing your branding for your hotel.

The video marketing agency can help increase the quantity of video’s available for your hotel. This will increase the number of video ads you promote and help increase the chances of your hotel being viewed by different demographics, and navigate people towards your website.

In one instance you have Instagram where the initial few seconds of a video playing are key to grabbing the users attention. Just like it can often be challenging to maintain a user’s attention, it can also be difficult then to understand all the dynamics that go into capturing their attention.

A video marketing agency, in this case, will understand all the elements that go into making the specific types of videos for each platform. Keep in mind as well that each platform can have certain demands and specifications for each video. Because of this, each marketing video needs to be curtailed toward what best helps each video.

Video marketing agencies usually have access to a wide range of tools that are often not available to standalone businesses. They have a network of connections that keep them up to date with the latest trends in marketing.

Some of the things people are usually are looking out for in hotels include qualities like comfort, affordability, and helpful reviews of the place so they can gauge how well a hotel is.

Using video marketing also builds trust with your customers. People can be skeptical online of some of the claims businesses make, and the use of video can help mitigate that.

Animated videos are a type of video that can make your content stand out from the rest. A specialized firm can help by utilizing its animation tools to produce video’s that are engaging and useful to your audiences. Using animated videos is known to make users be more engaged and hold their attention for a long time.

While a video marketing agency can help with generating content and accomplish this with all the latest tools the industry has to offer, they can also help give you ideas of what you can improve on in your hotel. Agencies are known to establish a consistency that internal staff usually may not be able to. It is important to be consistent with distributing quality media every single day.

If you are going to be creating video ads for your hotel, then you will want to highlight what’s important with the most efficiency.

Overall, video ads have a much better conversion rate than any other form of advertisement. This makes video the best call to action medium out there. Make sure you hire experts to do the job for you so that you have all the bases covered.

As they say, it’s not great to be “penny wise pound foolish”. Just like you would hire an experienced server or manager for smooth operation, it is important to hire trained professionals for your marketing. In today’s world, there is no marketing without video.

5 Golden Rules of the Group Holiday

June 19, 2019 by TJ Leave a Comment

A group holiday can be a make or break occasion for friends and family. If you’ve got one planned or are thinking about organising one this year there are some golden rules you need to follow. Group trips can and should be fun experiences, so here are some tips to ensure you and your friends make the most of your time together.

  • Allow Yourself Some Time Alone

If your holiday destination is one of the many luxury villas in the Balearic Islands, you’ve got the perfect opportunity to comply with this rule. Villa holidays are perfect because there’s always plenty of space for people to enjoy some time alone if they want to. There are no set meal times, and the schedule is always going to be flexible.

  • Managing Money

It’s all too easy for an argument to start over money when you’re on holiday together as a group. Part of the holiday planning should include sitting down and agreeing on how big the budget is. It stops one member of the group dining out on champagne dinners while everyone else is making dinner at the holiday villa. It’s also going to help if you all pay your way and split any bills evenly.

  • Be Prepared to Compromise

There are going to be times when you’re not up for a walk around the local market or craft shops. You might prefer to spend a day hiking in the mountains rather than chilling on the beach. There’s little point in sticking your heels in and expecting everyone else to change their plans. Sometimes it’s better to go with the flow, hoping that you’ll get to do what you want later in the trip.

  • Assign Responsibilities

The best way to organise a group holiday is to assign responsibilities from the very beginning. If you’re flying to your holiday destination, one person can be responsible for looking after everything to do with the flights, such as airport transfers and making the booking. Another person can be responsible for all the accommodation aspects. Organising the itinerary is a bit of a big task for one person, but you could split it up and allocate a day per person. That way, everyone will get at least one day when they get to do what they want.

  • Be Considerate

When you’re holidaying as a group, there’s no room for anyone who only thinks about themselves. A group holiday is for exploring and doing things together. If there’s an itinerary do your best to stick to it and not keep everyone waiting around because you forgot to set your alarm. If you’re sharing villa accommodation, clean up after yourself and keep the noise down when the kids have gone to bed. Hanging out together can be great fun but only when you’re considerate of each other.

One last tip is to be flexible and adaptable whenever it’s required. While you might have an itinerary that has been agreed to, unforeseen events can occur. If everyone is open-minded and are prepared to go with the flow when required, there will be less upset.

Top Ten Tips to Make the Most of Your Trips

June 12, 2019 by TJ Leave a Comment

Travelling is an art, and there is no doubt about it. There are many ways we can choose nowadays, to travel and discover new places, and we bring back home the same variety of experiences and emotions that we live on trips, wanting to share them with our closest friends.

But, the same destination can mean something very different depending on how you approach your trip. So, here are some tips on how to get the most out of your trip so that it becomes something very special and hard to forget.

Moreover, to cover distant places book your next flight from Faremart.com that provides remarkable and satisfactory Air Travel services to the travellers and seekers with access to 450 plus airlines and 24/7 assistance and support.

With no more delay, let’s dive deep into the tips and tricks to make a trip a memorable one:

1. Choose quality over quantity

When we say quality, we are not referring to luxury hotels, but the quality of places and experiences.

Often when we plan a trip, we make the mistake of wanting to see too many places in a very short time. After all, we have 20 days of vacation, and we want to make the most of them and not miss anything, but the consequences of bad planning do not usually wait.

The burden of being loaded all the time from one place to another, the rush, fatigue, and especially the feeling of not getting to know thoroughly, any of the places visited, or the people who live there, They make a dent on our experience, and only feed to our delusion that we experienced something completely.

This recipe, classic of many travel agencies, with organized express trips of 15 days or less, to see the most representative of a country is perhaps the most widespread of the market, and it’s one of the great problems of our time, the lack of time, which affects us in all areas of our life, and holidays are no exception.

It is undoubtedly also one of the differences between the tourist, and the traveller, since the latter, as far as possible, takes minimum time in each place, and often avoids the tourist-filled places, almost like cats do with water.

Maybe you go back home with your backpack full of photos, but make sure that you bring it full of unforgettable experiences, and for that, travelling with time, and not in a hurry, is fundamental. So if you have little time, choose a few places and try to spend as much as you can in them.

Many times, less is more, and normally it is better to visit a few places, than many in a hurry.

2. Plan before starting

We love to leave as much as possible to chance and adventure, but we always plan a minimum before leaving, we make a provisional itinerary that suits our tastes and needs, we prioritise what we like most, and then we modify it to our whim if necessary.

Planning before leaving, will often save us time and headaches, especially on shorter trips where time is less.

3. Disconnect from internet

Whether you want to get Air Canada flight information or looking for best Instagram spots in Miami, the internet is your friend. But, this is ‘before the trip’ part. The internet should not fill the time during our trip.

Virtual life has become an essential part of our life, for some, even for the most part. Without realising it, we spend many hours every day connected to the network but disconnected from the places and people where we physically are.

Seeing a group of people sharing a table, but each one focused on their phone and not talking to each other has become a common image today.

At first, it can be unpleasant, and you will probably feel the need to connect as soon as you can to the network and share your experiences with your family or your social networks. It’s part of detoxification, but as time goes by, you’ll get used to using the Internet only once in a while.

Disconnecting from the Internet is undoubtedly one of the best things we can do to enjoy our trip more. It will force you to be centred and present at the moment you are living; it will help you to interact more with your surroundings, to ask directions, to share experiences and, above all, to get by without looking at the phone at all times.

4. Interact with other travellers

It is one of the most important and special sources of information and experiences of a trip.

When we travel, especially when we do it as a couple or as a group, we tend to form closed circles, unless we are so open to strangers, and we miss the great opportunity to deal with the rest of the travellers we have around.

It is important always to try to interact with new people. Likely, they have already gone through the places we have planned to go, or know others we have not heard of, and can give us new ideas of where to go, what to do, where to sleep and other information that will be tremendously useful.

That if you look at your idea of travel, is similar to yours, if you do not want to end up in places that are a waste of time, as in everything, the perceptions are subjective.

But the most important thing to share with other travellers is not the information, but the stories. Think that just like you, each of those people around you, has brought something different there, it is fascinating to know the history behind those people, and be part of it, even for a short time.

5. Relate with local people

C:\Users\Pooja\Downloads\children-1504836_1280.jpg

Image by Peter Colgan from Pixabay

URL: https://pixabay.com/photos/children-nepal-sherpa-trekking-1504836/

Yes, we know, we have been there and we know how difficult it can be to try to communicate with local people when they do not speak your language, and often you feel that you really do not understand what they want to convey, but with a little imagination and gestures, you can do a lot.

Many times it is not even necessary to talk, to share a landscape, a silence, a look is more than enough to have a memorable moment. You can utilise a translation app.

And of all of them, maybe the music is the most special. There is nothing that communicates more than the universal language of music. If you play an instrument, in a short time all the people around you will approach you to listen to you, some will even join you, creating an improvised concert of the most varied that you have ever seen.

6. Get out of the popular route

However remote it may be, every country has an established route, which is what most travellers choose. It is there for some reason, and often includes the most representative sites, which appear in travel guides and for which many others before you have passed.

One of the best experiences that you can sometimes have is to get out of the usual way, change your route a couple of days, to go to places where nobody goes, it’s usually a good decision, because that’s where you’ll find more authentic experience which is close to the reality of the country.

Getting out of the usual route will take you to places where very few have passed, and in which you will probably be the only foreigner, which will make the local population surprised to see you and wonder what you are doing there. You will be often welcomed as if you were a famous person, where everyone will want to take pictures with you and entertain you with all kinds of meals and questions.

7. Learn a little local language

Travelling is always much easier if you learn a few words in the local language. People will like to see how you have taken some time, patience and effort to learn to communicate with them in their language, and we can assure you that they will reward you.

Ask the basic words and practice them. It seems like a problem, but it can become a very fun time, and that will certainly provoke the laughter of people listening to you try to pronounce the sounds that are unpronounceable to you, which is something so simple and routine for them.

8. Be an observer, not a judge

The comparisons are hateful. Each Country, each village has its own customs, and often different or contrary to ours. Sometimes, we can find them even unpleasant.

A big mistake that we often make is to constantly compare what we see, with what we are used to, and we become judges of what is right or wrong according to our values and points of view.

Always try to maintain a positive mentality with the culture of the places you visit. However strange it may seem, there is sure to be something good and interesting that you can learn and get out of it.

9. Hire a local guide

We know that this can mean an increase in the budget for your trip, but you will be glad to have them.

They are, without a doubt, a very good way to know the reality of many places. They have grown and lived there all or most of their lives and know as anyone else the history, customs and stories and the other ins and outs, which otherwise would go unnoticed.

Look for recommendations on the Internet or among other travellers, and remember that you usually get experiences according to what you pay. Sometimes it is worth paying a little more for something, rather than spending several hours wondering if you have wasted money.

10 Get travel insurance

One of the best decisions you can make before starting any trip, especially if it is outside your continent, is to take a good insurance plan, which will give you the necessary peace of mind so that you can dedicate yourself entirely to enjoy the trip.

Look carefully at the coverages, what they include and what they do not, and especially if you have to pay for the services in advance or not. It is very common that before an incident, the insurances make you pay the expenses, to then repay them by presenting the bills. This entails paperwork, and of course, getting your money back. But if you do not have enough in your pocket, it can become a real headache.

There are so many to choose from, take your time to get it right, after all this will be what you call home, some factors to consider are if everything is up to date, washer dryer, pool, and so many more things to take into consideration when picking your retreat. The location, the area, are their views, how many rooms, is one floor or two all of this needs to be considered also.

Essential Hacks to Enjoy Life in Phoenix

May 23, 2019 by TJ Leave a Comment

Phoenix is a beautiful city with a rich history. The town of Phoenix was settled in 1867 and was incorporated as the City of Phoenix in 1881. Until World War Two, Phoenix’s economy was based on the “Five C’s”: cotton, citrus, cattle, climate, and copper. Post-World War Two, the City of Phoenix started to grow more rapidly, as men who trained in the military installations in the valley, returned, bringing their families along with them. When the availability of air conditioning and an influx of industry, led by tech companies, the 1950s only further stimulated its population growth. Phoenix is currently ranked the 5th largest city in the United States based on population and by 2020, it is predicted that Phoenix will rank 4th largest city in the US based on population.

Being in such a large city, with a massive population, we have pulled together some essential hacks to enjoy life in Phoenix.

    1. Yearly Membership at the Phoenix Zoo
      • If you’re looking for a quick getaway in Phoenix from the ever-industrializing society, visiting the Phoenix Zoo is an easy way to get back into nature with a fun dose of knowledge. The Phoenix Zoo is home to a whopping 3,000+ animals, representing nearly 400 species. That’s a lot of nature, exploring, and learning to do! A neat fact about the Phoenix Zoo is it’s currently the largest privately-owned zoo in the US, which means the zoo remains open on most major holidays! Snice the opening of the Phoenix Zoo, there have been many expansions and adding multiple exhibits and programs, the Phoenix Zoo is a wonderful treat all year round. Regular admission prices are a bit pricey if you’re visiting the Phoenix Zoo multiple times a year, however if you’re looking to save then the membership packages are the way to go. The prices at the Phoenix Zoo range from $69 – $279 . Some of the membership packages even allow you to bring a guest or two. Below are what the membership packages offer!
    2. Taking Art Classes at Circle 6 Studios
      • Circle 6 Studios is a small private studio dedicated to providing artists a place to develop their artistic skills and create their masterpieces. Circle 6 Studios allows you to view and purchase numerous one-of-a-kind art pieces made by local Phoenix artist. If you’re feeling inspired from the art work, Circle 6 Studios offers art classes from Beginning to Advanced levels to help you create your own inspirational art pieces. Circle 6 Studios also partners with other local institutions such as breweries, to hold special events. If you have friends visiting from out of town, or want to expand your artistic skills with different mediums, then Circle 6 Studios is a must do Phoenix staple!
    3. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
      • Taking a trip from Phoenix is an easy and straightforward process, especially if you’re departing from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Phoenix Airport is easily accessible from downtown and was ranked one of USA’s best airports in 2016. With negligible wait times at security, respectably low delay and cancellation rates, the only real complaint about the Phoenix Airport are the number of lounges for its size. Off-site Phoenix Airport parking was also mentioned as being one of the cheapest options with multiple ways to book. The Phoenix Airport has partnered with third-party companies such as Way.com, RetailMeNot, and Ebates to give you the best rates and to help save money on Phoenix Airport parking. Phoenix Airport, and vicinity, offers great long term Phoenix airport parking deals and continues to make flying through them a pleasant experience.
    4. The Farm at South Mountain
      • One of Phoenix’s best-kept secrets is The Farm at South Mountain. An Arizona forerunner in the farm-to-table movement, The Farm at South Mountain is an international destination with over 200 events and 100,000 visitors a year. This Farm holds multiple events including farmer’s markets, festivals (a lot of which are free), and even allows you to book the venue for an event of your own. Not only does The Farm at South Mountain make it easy for you to buy fresh local produce but also gives you a fun and beautiful venue for seasonal festivals and events.

Life in Phoenix, Arizona is a beautiful melting pot of culture, history, food, and fun. While this list does not cover all the essential experiences in Phoenix, we hope it sparked a fire for you and got you up and ready to explore all that Phoenix has to offer.
